Kingswood has been providing life changing adventures for young people for 40 years. Hundreds of thousands of children experience a Kingswood residential every year and day trips are also available, providing an excellent opportunity for children to develop their confidence, resilience and life skills.

With 11 centres scattered across the UK, each offers something slightly different, from stunning coastal scenes to grand private estates and historic woodlands. Kingswood offer a range of educational outdoor adventure programmes that are suitable for all key stages; integrating a variety of curriculum content within activities and working with teachers to bring subject content to life. The benefits of outdoor learning on mental health and wellbeing are proven, and all activities are designed to help build confidence and resilience.

What you get starts before your trip, with our pre/post visit toolkit which will help you with evidencing for Ofsted. On the day itself, you’ll have a base room exclusively for your group where you can leave bags, enjoy your packed lunch and have a debrief at the end of the day. You’ll be assigned a dedicated activity leader(s) who will stay with you the whole day to limit contact. All of our day visits include 4 varied activities, designed specifically to support our key learning outcomes of confidence, resilience and life skills.

Kingswood generally work with group sizes of 12 to 15 participants but our centres can accommodate much larger groups.

Kingswood, in partnership with Enrich Education, provide visitors with pre- and post-trip activity packs. These include a selection of activities that support PE, English, Maths, Science and Geography curricula, taken from the Enrich School Orienteering and Outdoor Learning Digital Hub. Each activity links with one of the six Kingswood curriculum categories (Challenge, Play, Explore, Discover, Social, Reflect). All activities include a teacher’s plan and children’s resource sheets where required.
In addition, Kingswood offers schools a unique ‘confidence tracker’ tool, created in partnership with insight specialists, Spike, and with counsel from Dr Alice Jones Bartoli and Professor Justin Dillon, to enable them to evidence and evaluate the success of a trip.

Day visits start from just £16 per child

You’ll be outdoors whatever the weather, so dress appropriately!

We have first aiders at all of our centres.

We’ll give you a dedicated room to eat your packed lunch and toilets will be available.

We have been very well looked after, the kids have enjoyed themselves and the activities have been well organised. It has been a relatively easy trip for the staff as many things have been organised for us but we have still been with the children all the time so have been able to experience what they have been doing, and join in if we have wanted to. The food has been excellent and the rooms are great.

Our children have problems with confidence, team building and resilience and each of the activities addressed those aims. All the children were encouraged to go that little bit further and push themselves. they were encouraged to stretch them selves and try new things. Some of the children have reached a personal best and I have seen their confidence and resilience soar this week.
