Theatre Workshop has been touring school for 25 years and offers amazing wow factor Living History and ECO workshops. Supported by the Arts Council for England we have been able to develop over the years a unique fully interactive experience that the pupils and teachers will never forget. The sessions are packed full of information, fun, drama, and learning.

What type of Curriculum/Keystage Workshops do you cover
Super Stone Age Workshop: KS1 & Ks2
Our Fantastic Stone Age Workshop will give this subject the Wow factor and get your kids scrabbling for books & the Internet.
We even make life easier for you, we will come to you and set up our fun packed filled Workshop in your hall.
This non-stop inspiring workshop has it all.
meet a world-famous archaeologist, discover artefacts on a dig & communicate, if you can, with Uggh a cave dweller.
And if that’s not enough the pupils will have the opportunity to act out being a woolly mammoth, sort out a timeline & be an archaeologist. All packed into a morning or an afternoon session
The Entertaining Egyptians: KS2
Our Amazing Egyptian Workshop is full of fun and facts. Ideal for inspiring your class and giving the topic that wow factor.
Our company member will arrive at your school with a pop-up Ancient Egyptian theatre.
The pupils will get the chance to meet the world-famous Egyptologist C. Trimbold, meet a priest, watch a classmate mummified and acts out the daily life of a priest.
And if that isn’t enough C. Trimbold tells the story of the uncovering of Tutankhamen’s Tomb & the pupils get the chance to meet an Ancient Egyptian tomb robber.
It’s a none stop packed session, with the pupils acting out being Egyptologist, priests, tomb robbers and learning so much about Ancient Egyptian history.
The Amazing Greeks KS2
This self-contained pop-up theatre experience will arrive in your school hall.
During the workshop you will Listen to the story of Pandora’s box, meet a mysterious Greek fortune-teller, and find out the rules of the Olympic games from Acanthus the Spartan.
And if that’s not enough, the pupils act out being ancient heroes and Gods, Olympic Athlete’s & Pandora. All of this is packed into a morning or an afternoon session. Get your camera ready.
The Resourceful Romans: KS1 & KS2
Our experienced actor will arrive at your school with our WOW factor pop-up Roman theatre experience.
The pupils will get the chance to meet a Robust slave trader, who takes delight in selling his slaves from Britannia, they will take part in a Roman Street market & sit at the Senate to converse with a Consul from Rome.
And if that is not enough, they will build Hadrian’s wall, defeat the Celts & murder Julius Caesar.
The pupils will be encouraged to participate throughout the workshop.
The Sensational Saxons & Oh Those Vikings KS2
Take the stress out of organizing a school trip, our workshop comes to you.
The Workshop is packed full of fun and facts and gives the topic a real wow factor.
Meet a Saxon who tells the gripping tale of Beowulf & what life was really like during those days. Hear first-hand how the Vikings invaded these shores told by a Viking Warrior.
And if that’s not enough learn how to row a longboat, use a lucet. This is a fully interactive workshop The pupils will be encouraged, by our experienced actor, to participate in acting scenes.
The Troublesome Tudors
EASY, FUN AND ENGAGING Perfect for KS1 & KS2
A wonderfully interactive and simple way of getting across important facts about history.
The facilitator will arrive at your school with a pop-up theatre, to set the scene for the Tudors.
The pupils will meet a lady in waiting for King Henry VIII.
She will spill the beans on why his majesty married so many times, and what happened to his wives. Ask her questions and with your pupils help act out important moments of Tudor history.
And if that’s not enough to inspire your class
Her majesty QUEEN ELIZABETH I will also be visiting, to discuss with her loyal subjects why she decided never to marry, how she defeated the Spanish Armada and ruled over the Golden Age of exploration and discovery.
The Very Elegant Victorians KS1 & KS2
The workshop leader will arrive at your school with her Victorian classroom pop-up theatre.
The pupils will meet a Strict Victorian Teacher Ms Grimm, she will instruct them on how to behave in her classroom & if good allow them to play with Victorian toys.
Dressed in Victorian costume she will perform short, fun scenes and encourage the pupils to take part. Your pupils will be chimney sweeps, cotton factory workers and will get a real sense of working down the coal mines.
And if that wasn’t enough, the pupils get to meet a parlour Maid who is full of gossip about the household she works in. She will show them how to fold sheets, wash clothes and iron. This is a fully interactive workshop. Covers Queen Victoria’s Life. Life as a Victorian child. Life in the coalmines. Victorian inventions
Brave Britain at War KS2
Our experienced actor will arrive at your school with a pop-up World War II theatre Experience. With Sound effects and music from the day. A sing a long to keep the spirits high.
Also they Meet the lady from the Ministry who will evacuate your pupils. Watch them board the train with their one suitcase. What should they pack? Also in the Workshop they learn about rationing, how they could help the war effort, the tragedy of war and the legacy it has left behind.
The pupils will be encouraged, to participate throughout the workshop.
All Hail Macbeth Workshop KS2
We offer a non-stop, wow factor workshop. Our professional actors arrive at your school with a pop-up theatre experience.
We will capture your pupil’s imaginations as soon as the witches appear on the heath to the bitter end of Macbeth’s demise. The pupils act out the plot line and immerse themselves in Shakespeare’s world.
The Theatre experience will take place in your school hall.
Our experienced Facilitators will guide the pupils through the nonstop session. Dissecting the plot and the motives of the characters.
And if that’s not enough, the pupils act out the story of Macbeth.
