Chill Factore provides inspiring “Learning Outside The Classroom” education for your students in our real snow venue. From reward trips and snow sports instruction, to curriculum-led content, we not only offer exhilarating snow inspired activities, but we also provide great adventures packages and can tailor your visit to meet your specific needs.

Chill Factore is the longest in indoor ski slope in the United Kingdom. We have a varied programme of curriculum led school sessions, which are uniquely tailored to your student’s ability and key stage. Come and learn about the polar regions in our subzero real snow venue or test out forces in action in our snow park.

All of our snowsports instructors are fully qualified to BASI standard.

We typically provide helmets and boots for safety purposes and the free hire of snowsports equipment such as snowboards, ski’s, poles and ski boots. You can hire ski coats and waterproof trousers for an additional £2.50 per item.

Most of our sessions come with preliminary learning outcomes and teachers guides developed in accordance with the national curriculum. There are also additional resources available such as our Polar Regions Discovery box which contains a variety of experiential learning activities ideally suited for KS1-2 and worksheets to complete on return to the classroom.

Photography is allowed of a school’s own pupils with parent’s/guardian’s permission. Please refrain from taking images which may have other individuals in the shot.

We have a large portfolio of risk assessments for all activities at the venue as well as copies of our public liability. We are happy to complete council provider forms on request.

Warm Clothing and Gloves are compulsory, though our waterproof clothing is available to hire for an additional cost.

Yes, we have First Aid trained staff on site at all times.

We have a range of shops, cafes and restaurants on site for more information please go to: https://www.chillfactore.com/plan-visit/shop-eat/. We also have an onsite catering company who can provide hot and cold school lunches on request. We do have a small fake grassed area inside the venue for packed lunches and may be able to provide some space in the conference facilities on the day if not in use.

Most activities do require the person to be able to stand independently and to walk on an incline through deep snow. We also do require people to be able to understand instruction and grip onto some of the ride equipment such as donuts and sledges.

We have partnered with Disability Snowsport UK who are able to host lessons for persons in wheelchairs and with extra learning needs through their adaptive equipment and trained team of staff.
