What we offer on a school trip
We are a small independent provider based in the Lake district in Cumbria who specialize in providing: Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions, John Muir Awards (conservation), and accreditation with National Governing body awards (BCU, MLTB, RYA, Archery GB).
We can provide a range of activities and educational awards:
From traditional outdoor activities like Canoeing, kayaking, Climbing and abseiling and Archery. To Duke of Edinburgh and John Muir awards.
A lot of what we do can be linked to elements of the National Curriculum and we can provide accreditation through National Governing Bodies.
Camping and accommodation can be arranged.
We hold an Adventure Activities License No L8038/R1775 Health and Safety Executive,
Approved Activity provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
What makes us a great choice for education
We provide our services through a flexible approach. Being able to tailor where we met client groups reducing the amount of unnecessary travel and logistical support they need. Allowing more time for a tailored activity session thereby allowing young people to learn through participation and experience
What is typically included on our school trips
Each visit is different tailored to the client request.
All our activities are tailored to the needs of the group and can cover various curriculum elements:
Environmental topics, outdoor exploration, leadership, team building and informal education ( forest schools, learning outside the classroom etc).
Group Sizes Catered For
Our maximum ratios per instructor is activity dependent (governed by National Governing Body Guidelines).
We can work with large groups by arrangement.
Materials, Resources & Information Provided
Some activities we do can be linked with elements of the curriculum or key stages (B.C.U star awards /p>addle power and Duke of Edinburgh awards, John muir award) Teachers would need to contact us to discus specific requirements.
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
Children/young people can take photos but it’s not all ways possible due to nature of activities they could be taking part in.
Pricing Information
Costs are group size dependent, ranging from £25 per person participating in activities.
Clothing Requirements
Clothing required is activity dependent and will be discussed upon booking
Activity specific safety equipment will be provided.
First Aid Information
All instructors are qualified first aiders and carry first aid kits as part of their safety equipment
