What we offer on a school trip
Established in 1975, The Countryside Education Trust’s mission is to connect people to the wonders of the British countryside, rural life and farming. Our expert teaching team tailors national curriculum-based modules to the needs of each school and we have great feedback from our visitors.
What makes us a great choice for education
We offer a broad range of curriculum linked, day visit programs to suit every need. Our expert Education Officers, many of whom are former teachers, take pride in offering engaging and fun sessions at our Treehouse Study Centre.
Accreditation and Awards
We are currently in the process of renewing our LOTC certification.
What is typically included on our school trips
Schools attending for a day visit have the option of choosing from one of our set programs. A member of our Education team will be happy to suggest a suitable program depending on your desired learning outcomes. All of our sessions are delivered by a member of our education team who will meet you on arrival, look after your group during the day and make sure you get back to your coach on time once your visit is over. We also offer teachers who have not visited us before the chance to arrange a pre-visit to view the site and meet one of our education officers in person before their trip.
Group Sizes Catered For
We can accommodate a maximum of two classes per day.
Materials, Resources & Information Provided
We supply all of the resources and materials required to run each session. Resources are available upon request.
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
We are happy for teachers to take photos and/ or videos while they are here.
Risk Assessment Details
All of our activities are risk assessed and are available on our website at Schools – Risk Assessments (cet.org.uk). We encourage all group leaders who have not visited us before to arrange a pre-visit before their trip for the purpose of writing their own risk assessment.
