Our great value educational packages provide the perfect opportunity to reward students with a day full of adventures, learning and discovery, in a safe and secure environment .With over 35 rides and attractions to exhilarate the mini thrill seekers, step aboard the Savanna Express for a journey through the African Wilderness, twist and turn on the Little Dipper or plunge into Splash Falls on a rubber dinghy. For gentler thrills there’s endless funfair tradition to enjoy, including our carousel, Lightwater Express Train and Vintage car Rally.

Treetop Trails is now included within Lightwater Valleys admission!! Treetop Trails covers over 2,000 square metres of beautiful woodland at Lightwater Valley and is the biggest of its kind in the UK! This exciting net walk-through experience gives you the opportunity to explore the woodland canopy high above the Park and have fun jumping through the giant springy nets suspended up to 12 metres from the ground
Practice your agility and get a head for heights as kids big and small build up their confidence to bounce along the springy nets. Completely surrounded by high net walls, you can play in the trees without a need for a harness. Enjoy bouncy adventures as you crawl through tunnels and zip down slides!
Accreditation and Awards
Lightwater Valley has a VAQAS (Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme) accreditation from VisitEngland, the national tourist board.
What is typically included on our school trips
Discovery woods – Children thrive outdoors and there is so much to see, do and learn in the brand-new Browns Woods Discovery trail. The trail is a woodland walk filled with interactive, hands-on learning. We encourage children to get messy and creative in our Mud Kitchen. Fish for creatures big and small whilst Pond Dipping our Swan Lake, compare your findings on our Pond ID sheet to see what’s living below the surface of the water! Keep your eyes peeled whilst you look for woodland animals and birds. The woods are home to all! From the minibeasts in our bug hotels, to the majestic birds you may find hiding in bird boxes! We have a purpose built outdoor classroom and the trail has educational signage throughout ensuring that woods are full of excitement and discovery. Age-appropriate activity packs which have been designed to incorporate curriculum linked outdoor learning and approved by local schools are available.
We offer Key stage activity packs covering Foundation level, Key stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Included with our activity packs is all the equipment needed for the perfect day out.
Group Sizes Catered For
Lightwater Valley can welcome groups of sizes – you can even hire the theme park exclusively for up to 5000 people!
Materials, Resources & Information Provided
Teacher approved key stage activity packs, purpose built outdoor classrooms, educational signage. Risk assessments and Public Liability Insurance documents are available upon request, if you prefer to conduct your own risk assessment then once your booking is made, Lightwater Valley offers 2 free teacher preview tickets should they wish to carry out their own pre-trip inspection. These tickets are for teachers only and allow up to 2 hours in the park at a pre-arranged date and time.

Yes – there are no restrictions at Lightwater Valley.
Risk Assessment Details

Clothing Requirements
Lightwater Valley is an outdoor venue so comfortable shoes and clothing are a must. With the British weather it’s probably a good idea to pack a waterproof too! For the Tree Top Trail you cannot wear open toed shoes, and hair must be tied back.
First Aid Information
There is always qualified first aid on site.
Available Facilities
There are various gift shops and catering outlets throughout the park offering a range of items. Schools are welcome to bring packed lunches as we have a variety of outside and undercover picnic areas.
Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
Lightwater Valley is an accessible venue. Front of queue wristbands are available for those whose disability causes distress/ upset queuing (a doctor’s note required). A copy of our Access Guide can be downloaded by visiting disabled_access_guide_2022.pdf (lightwatervalley.co.uk)
