At OA Surf Club, we offer a truly unique and unforgettable experience for school groups of all ages. Our stunning clifftop location overlooking Widemouth Bay provides the perfect backdrop for a range of residential trips and activities, and our experienced team can work with you to create a bespoke package that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.

We are also the perfect location to base yourselves for geography fieldwork and the surrounding area is a treasure trove for geology and ecology studies.

We are a small residential centre catering for up to 45 students plus staff, perfect for a 1,2 or 3 night short stay.

We offer a range of activities, and you can bolt on as many (or as few!) as you like, these can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of your school group. Our experienced instructors can help your students develop new skills, build confidence, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

All food and accommodation is included for the duration of your stay.

Combine exploring the local area with activities or add in a trip to locations further afield in Cornwall such as The Eden Project.

At OA Surf Club, we are committed to providing high-quality and safe residential trips and experiences for school groups of all ages. We believe that learning outside the classroom is a valuable and enriching experience for young people, and we are passionate about helping your students achieve their full potential.

As a small centre we can offer sole occupancy to small year groups and classes. We pride ourselves on providing a completely different experience to large, impersonal centres.

OA Surf Club holds an AALA certificate and is also accredited by Surfing England and the National Coasteering Charter

Groups have access to the large lounge and dining room during their stay as well as the extensive grounds, there is a football pitch onsite and direct access to a private beach.  There is also access to a cliff fire pit area.

We can sleep roughly 45 + staff dependent on male/female splits

As long as consent has been given by the parents/carers then there are no restrictions.

We can provide all risk assessments and any other paperwork required pre

You can create your own residential experience with us, where you can choose as many or as little activities that you would like to do. This is done by building a package, where you’ll book the accommodation, and then you can bolt on any activities to this.

For our residentials, we operate on a price per night per person, and so for a student to stay for the first night, this would be £80pp, and then any additional nights would be £70pp per night. This would include all meals, (breakfast, packed lunch, and a 2-course evening meal). Plus, for every 10 students, 1 staff would go free.

Activities are then bolted on to this package and surfing, bodyboarding, coasteering and canoeing are £21pp.  Our Team building session is £11pp

All our staff are qualified beach lifeguards, surf coaches and have extra first aid training.  First aid and safety equipment are carried on every session.

“I brought 24 students and 3 staff from a school in Bristol for a 1 night action packed residential. We had an excellent stay. The food was good (especially the BBQ) and the staff running the activities were enthusiastic and professional. Coasteering down at Bossiney was a real highlight. OA Surf Club is situated in 10 acres of land on a cliff top overlooking Widemouth Bay, North Cornwall, there is direct access to a private beach and is a perfect location to discover Cornwall.  Eden project is 40 minutes away.

We have 15 bedrooms and they are a mixture of twin, double and bunk rooms – beds can be adapted for male/female splits.  Some rooms are en-suite and some have sinks, the rest have shared bathroom facilities.

We have large communal shower rooms that can be easily split for male and females.  Visiting staff have their own showers/toilets.
