What we offer on a school trip
Stockeld Park is a unique all weather attraction located near Wetherby in Yorkshire.
The renowned Enchanted Forest is filled with magical interactive fun and is home to five fantastically themed adventure playgrounds! Beyond the Enchanted Forest, we offer our giant yew tree maze with over a mile of paths.
The Playhive, our unique, fabulous indoor play centre is one of Europe’s largest and most original indoor play centres! Let your imagination lead the way as you journey through four interconnected worlds of space, air, the jungle, and sea! Adventure across high-level walkways and down spiralling tunnel slides! Now imagine being able to plug all of that straight into the curriculum. It really is the biggest and best indoor and outdoor storytelling classroom there is. There’s no place like it!

Stockeld Park Storyworld is a teacher-led initiative, built around the Primary National Curriculum and designed to bring Stockeld’s magical story world of adventure into the realm of education and learning.
We aim to fire the imagination and inspire children to develop a love of learning by exploring stories and themes through high-quality educational sessions that match, support and boost the work teachers are already doing in class.
What is typically included on our school trips
Our programme is fully tailored to the KS1 & 2 National Curriculum. Activities are graded for KS1 or KS2 and can be modified and differentiated as needed for your class.
Enchanted Forest Story Creation Walk. An interactive character led journey through our magical forest where children create their own amazing stories using the incredible story-rich environment around them.
The Playhive Imagination Zone. Use the four themed zones of Space, Underwater, Jungle and Air to explore story, character and plot in this amazing drama-led exploration of the children’s own imaginations.
The Amazing Maze Challenge. Use your mapping and orienteering skills to find and solve the Maze Master’s mysterious Riddles.
Educational Themed Workshops. Perfect for kick starting a topic or diving deeper, these fun fuelled fact filled interactive workshops inspire learning in unique and engaging sessions. Hands on, explorative, informative, and magical. Various themes, linked to curriculum topics. We can also deliver Workshop Days in schools.
School Fun Day: As well as our term time Education Programme we also offer occasional Fun Days for schools and groups. Perfect as an end of term treat or a fun day out. Contact us for details.

Education days: groups of 30-40. Up to 80 in total. This can be increased by arrangement.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided
Downloadable Resources – Continuous learning from just one trip. Once you’ve booked, you’ll have access to our free resource bank of curriculum-linked worksheets and activities for teachers to download and use both before and after your trip. We also have free activities and competitions available from our website.
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
Both photos and filming are allowed on site, and we encourage sharing on social media and school’s websites. Schools and organizers are individually responsible for parental permissions for photographing children. Please only photograph or film your own group.

Head of Education / School’s Liaison
Bruce Sharp
Bruce is our Head of Education at Stockeld. He’s a teacher with over 25 year of experience across all Primary Key Stages, so he knows exactly what teachers need from a school trip and the best way of engaging children in their learning. Between 2016-20022 he was also the Head of Education and Delivery at The Rainbow Factory in Leeds, an educational creative arts storytelling centre, where he created and delivered their hugely popular Education programme. His creative flair and love of storytelling means you can be sure of a magical, imaginative and exciting school trip full of wonder.

Booking charges
There is a minimum booking fee per class (for up to 30 pupils) with additional fees per pupil beyond that.

School staff are allowed free entry in accordance with the schools required adult to pupil safety ratio. In most cases we allow for 1:5. All adults supporting SEN and disabled children are free regardless of ratios. Any additional adults beyond that number would be expected to pay. Let us know if you have specific requirements.
Payment needs to be made via card or bank transfer, ideally before the day of the trip. If you have administration delays (e.g. council transfer of funds) please let us know before you arrive.
Clothing Requirements
Stockeld has both indoor and outdoor activities, so children need to be warm and dressed appropriately for the weather.
First Aid Information
We have multiple first aid stations around the park at key areas and trained first aiders are on site, however we strongly advise all trip leaders carry their own first aid kits and there should be at least one trip leader who is first aid trained.
Available Facilities
Dining areas are provided for Lunch. The site contains multiple toilets including disabled access. Our shop can be opened during your visit by arrangement. We can provide set priced goody bags. Payment is card only or exact money. We cannot give change. There is a café but this is only open for Fun Days. Vending machines are available for drinks and snacks for adults.
Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
Accessibility in the Park
Our disabled parking bays are all located close to the main entrance to Stockeld park
All cafés and the shop are accessible by wheelchair
The main walkways round the Park are now tarmacked, including the almost 1 mile-long trail around the Enchanted Forest, and the 2 miles of paths through the Magical Maze.
Wheelchairs are permitted in all areas of the Playhive throughout the year. The Playhive has been built to be accessible for wheelchair users in all the adventure zones and throughout the Playhive Pizzeria.
Disabled Toilets
There are several disabled toilets available to our guests. These are located in the following areas:
- In the Atrium adjoining the Shop and Woodland Café
- In the Playhive Pizzeria
- Adjacent to Gretel’s half way round the Enchanted Forest.
NB: Not all our play areas are fully accessible at present, nor do we have activities for disabled guests to enjoy in every area.
Opening Hours & Information
Education Days operate term time Mon-Wed (Thur and Fri by arrangement only). The programme runs from 9.30-2.30.
The Adventure Park is open seasonally, at weekends and for special events. Please check our website for details.
